Where Britain has Invaded

This terrific map showing all the places in the world where British troops have fought comes from Stuart Laycock's All the Countries We've Ever Invaded. Laycock says British troops have fought in 90 percent of the world's nations.

Curious - while technically "invasions" of a sort, I have very few doubts that most of the farther flung fights were mere proxy battles where British troops were lending aid to various local parties - naturally favoring those factions with the best dispositions toward trade relations - without actually entering into a state of warfare. Probably a huge number of such fights come from the age of sail, and were fought by Royal Marines.

Still interesting to see the reach they had laid out in one global map, even if much of it was relatively minor stuff that wouldn't have terribly lasting impacts - although to be fair, plenty of it was quite major too.
