Baba Vidin

Baba Vidin is a fortress in northwestern Bulgaria. It seems to date largely to the fourteenth century, although it was repaired and modified up into the eighteenth. Captured by the Ottoman Turks in 1397, it served them as an administrative post and prison. Very grim and impressive.
